ABOUT ME

Believe it or not, I don’t just sit at my computer 24/7 copyediting books. I’m an extreme hiker of the mountains in Washington State, an avid nature photographer, a baker, and a musician.

Growing up, I excelled in English classes and discovered and developed a passion for proper grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. I do have a natural talent and interest for these things, but there are also some crazy grammar rules out there, which is why I keep my Chicago Manual of Style next to me at all times (I’ve even memorized some of it). Editing is so enjoyable for me because I get to read all sorts of interesting and imaginative things. I find it amazing that one person can create whole worlds just by writing words on a piece of paper. I am honored every time an author chooses me to help make his or her novel the best that it can be.

I am a mother of four. I grew up in the Washington, DC, area and then moved to Washington State as a teenager. When I graduated high school in 2003, I also had over a year of college completed through the Running Start program. I applied to several universities and was accepted by all, but I chose to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

When I'm not reading or editing, I can be found spending time with my kids, playing around with my camera, feeding peanuts to crows, watching geeky TV shows, serving in my church, or baking deliciously unhealthy treats. I also love playing musical instruments and have an appreciation for just about every musical genre there is. It's not uncommon for me to follow a Led Zeppelin song with some Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Limp Bizkit and then top it off with some Marshmello.

My latest hobby is hiking in this beautiful state of Washington. I've just recently discovered the amazing feeling of hiking to the top of a mountain and looking at the view around me, and I'm definitely hooked.

Warm Regards,

Jackie Jones
